Hello!  I've been away for a bit.  Some of the friends will remember me as Van Trekker.  Back in 2011 I converted a Chevy cargo van.  For several years I resided in it on my dad's property.  After he died, I lived out of it for a summer on a farm.  Now I'm back in a homebase (which I prefer) but do camp out of the van now and then and do a lot of trout fishing.

I work at Walmart (a fun job) selling sporting goods, mixing paint, covering automotive, and hardware -- all things where the skillset comes in handy.  In addition to trout fishing, I also enjoy a little target shooting and am licensed to carry a concealed weapon.  (not a bad idea now days)

Though having blogged for 5+ years and racked up 1.86 million hits, there was a conflict with a newly created blog using a similar name to mine; I've created a new blog.

Currently the van is getting a re-conversion to make it cleaner, safer, and more comfortable.  It's going great and I'm recording the progress along the way.  It's not easy trying to redo a van in Iowa in the winter!

Anyway, I'm going to be back in the Forum again and working on building up the new blog... all the while seeing if I can pull the many hundreds of hours' work from the old VanTrekker  blog to the new site.

Whether a person chooses full-time vandwelling or not (it wasn't for me) there is truly a "Stealthy adVANtage" when camping on the cheap!

Take care!  See ya'll in the forum!

Welcome back! I remember enjoying reading your blog awhile back...hope it continues :)

Brad! So glad to see you have returned to us! It's nice to have you back.

If you want, we can combine your old posts and threads with your new identity. let me know.

Brad,
I have been following your blog for quite a few years and find it very interesting. Enjoy reading about your travels thru Iowa, your fishing adventures and also your camping recipes. I have commented on your blog a few times but not as of late and I will continue to follow your new blog. Anxious to see how the new remodel turns out. I live in Pa. and "Punxutawney Phil" is calling for a early spring so that should help you in your work on the van.

So glad to see you and the kits on here. My browse time for other blogs has been limited lately but I always enjoy reading yours when I get a chance.
