Just found this forum while checking out the Cheap RV Living home site.
I've been researching for a while about transforming a van into a liveable camper. I have a 1983 Ford Econoline Extended back conversion van that I bought from my dad. The van mechanicaly is in top notch shape. The AC and even the cruise control which I was shocked still worked. The van will need a paint job. Over all it's in great shape. Hopefully my son and I can get started on pulling the interior out and layout what will be going back in.

Kevin

Hi Kevin, welcome. Lots of folks on here in the southeast. Im in NE Alabama, about 6 miles from Ga state line. Perhaps we will get a chance to meet and share a campfire one day.

Sounds good Les. I hope to have the van usable by Summer. My mother lives Attalla, Ala. Perhaps we could meetup sometime on my way to see her.

Kevin

Welcome to the group Kevin! Van looks great!

Welcome Kevin. Nice van and a Happy New Year to you.

Just got back from 4 days in the Cahoutta Natl Forest about 20 miles west of Dalton Ga. Had a great time, . Like I said, lots of folks in the area and lots of free camping, too. Why do we have to wait till summer? Finish up the van and let's head out ;0) we go camping all year long around here!

@Les, it's going to take me that long if not longer. Between work and the weather. I'll mostly be working on it in my spare time. I have a shop I wish I could pull it in but the van will not fit because of the height.
