Stern Wake really knows the AGM battery. They have much lower internal resistance and can also discharge at a greater rate without being damaged. Therefore a larger inverter can be used. Given the correct charging voltage, because of the low internal resistance, they are much more efficient battery and less power is lost during the process of charging and discharging, therefore it takes less energy to charge the AGM. It is an interesting battery. However I would rather spend the money on a couple of extra solar panels or larger lead acid battery bank or the longer lived Trojan L-16RE battery if space where the issue.
