Niterider miNewts: one on the handlebar one on the helmet. Waterproof. Two flashers on back that focus a large red pattern on the road, as well. Can't think of the manufacturer offhand. A yellow reflective flag.

Commute to work at 4:30 am.

I've been using a 300 lumen PowerLed headlite mfg. by Sigma. I got it from Nashbar 2 yrs ago for $99, and it came with a charger &amp; battery. The nice thing about it is that it also has a battery backup located in the headlite body. Three settings, and 3.5 to 11 hours of lighting.<div><br></div><div><img src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41BMgOTx2IL._SL500_AA300_.jpg"><br><div><br></div><div>For the rear lites, I use NiteRider Cherrybomb. I have two on the sides of the pannier rack of my Bike Friday, and one generic lite in the middle of the rack.</div><div><br></div><div><img src="http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31ABaUTqoYL._SL500_AA300_.jpg"></div></div>

On a side note,&nbsp;<div>I was on a short ride tonite, and while a motorist was passing me in my lane, he almost hit a vehicle head-on in the opposite lane!&nbsp;</div><div>Some road rage then ensued with honking of the horn &amp; &nbsp;flipping of the middle finger...</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Be careful out there! Motorists are NUTS!!!</div>

<p>I Commute about thesame as you are planning, Im 7 miles each way using the most direct which sometimes changes when the weathers nice and the wind is down. But I also use Cateyes for my main lights and another set of cheap blinkies just to make sure I get peoples attention. Most of my ride is on the shoulder of a road with a speed limit of 65 and most going over that. Unfortunetly i live in Wy, so this is the only road I can take for 4 miles of my ride</p>
