At the time this was taken, I was snoozing in the van with the doors open. I'm glad they didn't walk up to it! That kind of publicity would not be welcome.

The van and Dad's car (in the front) did not get damaged but the brats cut the right front tire on the Impala.... $105.... grrrr.... Thankfully the vandals didn't slash the expensive van tires!

So does the solar panel look fairly incognito? You can see that the back windows are blacked out. There is an external weather radio antenna on the top left back window. Overall, I think the van looks pretty nondescript. I doubt most would give it a second thought while watching this brief little clip.

Out of 40 or so cars that got vandalized, what are the odds the news folks would pick this portion of our block to make a video?

Gee if you didn't mentioned the doors open I wouldn't have noticed it. The rear looks good. Didn't notice anything on top. You looked like a service truck....just waiting to do service. We now have a star among us!!!
Maybe 3 white vehicles in a row looked good?

LOL. No sleepwalking or butter knife. I was actually sleeping at the time with the van where you now see the Cobalt. (We have a dumpster in the driveway for spring cleaning).

I heard one or more "boom" sounds but thought it was a dream. I'm glad that I didn't wake up. THere is a baton and a pipe in the van for DEFENSE only. Inciting more violence would not have helped, particularly during a period of increased tension over neighborhood watch type stuff, etc. It's good I was asleep - I could have just as easily ended up in jail. Damn kids.

Your van looks like a work van in the photo...

The "boom" in your dream reminds me of the "snorts" a man was making in my dream. Woke up to find a sea lion next to my tent...Scared the livin tar outta me!

Yeah, your van looks like any work van. Though the rack for the solar panel is a little high. Does it affect milage much with the extra drag?
Well VanT you got you few minutes of fame.... glad you were spared the cost of new tires...

Thanks for the comments. Nope, doesn't seem to hurt the gas mileage (much).. It's got to "cost" a little MPGzzz. Windnoise is basically unchanged - perhaps just a little different pitch. So far so good.

Thanks for the comments about stealth. Having sh*on the roof does tend to make it look more official. It would be so good to out a yellow light up there. LOL.

V.T.
