Looks great, you can hop into the truck when the bears think your'e a giant marshmallow.

I plan to sleep in the truck, the Carport is just going to serve as an awning, to keep the sun and light rain off of me, allow me to git-nekid to change clothing etc.... sit in my folding chair and drink coffee etc......
-AK

We use an EZ-Up, with the zip on walls. (they sell these for use in craft fairs and such)...but we use our's as a 10' x 10' mobile camping cabin.

just set it up over the back of your truck.

oh....and when ordering walls for it, get the 'Entry' walls with the zippers down the middle of 'em.

Our's is green. We love ours and use it quite a lot!!

Patrick46, thanks for the advise, looks great!!!
-AK

patrick46....how high is it to the bottom of the valance?

it must be nearly 7', and the top must be darn near 10'

I pull a Kwik-Kamp behind my chopper, AND tuck the edge of the camper just inside the EZ-Up, so I've got my queen size bed, a changing room, PLUS a 10' cabin to relax in!!!

My main riding buddy's got one too, so last year when we went to a bike run, we put 'em all together like this....

The Taj' Mahal of camps...complete with carpet, tables, chairs, kitchen area, and (of course) a complete bar!!

...and YES, ALL of this gear was brought up to the run on these 2 motorcycles in one trip!!!

very cool....i recently used a tent similar to that by "firstup" ... borrowd it from a buddy during the recent heatwave here to work outside...it was a 10x10 with a pretty tall center but my van doors wouldnt clear the valance even at the highest extension of the legs...i thought of raising it with a 6x6x6 block chiseled out to receive the legs but i think id just rather find a model that would clear...

7' ought to do it though i still havent actually measured it lol....

nice bikes...never got around to indulging that harley desire...had a few suzukis when i was a teenager and drove it without endorsement (doh). when i start homesteading i will probably go with a KLR650 since my property is in the middle of nowhere in NM.

dude on the right and i share the same beard stylist lol

Been riding bike since I was 15, and Harley's since I was 18, so well over 30 years now.

believe it or not, 2 weeks before this pic was taken, I had hair all the way down my back!! (I'm on the left)

I'm getting ready to sell my chopper, and get a V-Strom or a BMW GS. Somethng alot more off-road friendly.

OK...BOT

Nice awning! I have a simple set up with my Durashell utility body. Its more for outside showers. I have a length of PVC pipe with a T-fitting on both ends. I jam it on the latches of the two barn doors at the top, making it into a stall. I have a vinyl, no see through shower curtain on it, so I have privacy all the way around to do a shower. It would be nice to fashion an awing to sit under like yours..
BTW, did you always have the Tacoma? I thought you had one and then went to a Sprinter? Maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

Telcobilly, I still have a Bigfoot Truck Camper on a F350 DRW 4x4 truck. I had a similar Tacoma 2006-2008, but bought the new Tacoma about 6 months ago. I like your set-up, looks great!
