Location
where my van takes me.
Ok group, I am working on the floor just behind the driver and passenger seats..

I am working with 1/2 in plywood 4x4(x2)
As you can see I have a frame laid out.

I have 2 options(refer to photos)

In option 1, I would use 1 of the 4x4 pieces I have then Cut out what I would need on the sides

in option 2, I would profile each side use both 4x4 sheets so that I would have two halves
I am sort of leaning on this option..

Are you going to use that storage area under the floor? If you are 2 smaller doors are easier to deal with then 1 larger door. Highdesertranger

^^^With the two door system you can lay the one on top the other while accessing one side. This way on rainy days nothing has to be set outside to get to something and only half the stuff sitting on top has to be moved to get something inside.

***UPDATE***

I went with Option #2..

I will have an access door on each side.. And if the wire harness ever needs to be accessed I have planned for that also..

I am 99% sure my house battery will go into the storage behind the seat.. it makes the most since because my starter battery is on the drivers side in this van..

Yea you could always lay down one big piece and frame it out so you can pull up precut sections for storage access. Drill finger sized holes for handle and keep it all flush.
