Well Wal-Mart here is now takeing orders and you can use this to get your food gear together I do know this is happening in my part of Missouri.  Thought this would be good for this would be good for us that travel with pets in the summer.

I tried and didn't like someone else picking the fresh produce or the meat. I guess it is alright for cans and bottles or frozen packages.

I second the picking of fresh produce and meats, I want to do it myself. but for other things it would work fine. highdesertranger

They have this where I live, and I ordered some things for pickup once last year when weather was foul and I didn’t feel like braving the store.

Prices are cheaper than other grocers that offer the same service, but if I recall correctly they are slightly higher than if you shop yourself.

When I’m traveling with my dog, I try to get groceries early in the morning, when I can leave her safely with the windows open.

I have a list, I don’t wander around looking, I get in and get out.

the day I can't do my own shopping, well set me out to die at that point LOL
just me, won't ever use it….I ain't the type to use these types of things, for others, GO for it and hope it helps them greatly.

My daughter uses it. She has a 28 month and 4 month old. She calls in the order and husband picks it up on his way home.

yup that is a good reason to use it Weight.

things like that I don't have in my life, just not something I need but I am sure it is a biggie convenience to some out there.....every things sure a purpose to someone at some point:)

I've used it. Just for non perishables. Walmart can be a real zoo. I prefer to sit in my car and have someone else do the shopping. No lines and no charge!

As we baby boomers get older, being able to order groceries online, pay for them, and either pick them up ourselves or have that done for us, is another way to retain another bit of independence while lessening our reliance on others.

A lot of grocery stores will deliver directly to your home these days, as well.

I can’t hardly imagine a point when I will not be able to drive and/or be able to go into a grocery store on a regular basis, but the time will come.

I tried it once. I did enjoy not having to wander the aisles and wait in the checkout line. However I did not enjoy all the substitutions they made and that the mayonnaise was expired.

I use it all the time for everything except meat and produce. It's a great time saver where it's offered.

Just goes to prove that old is once again new. When I was a kid, my brother worked in a grocery store and would often deliver them. Smaller town so he even put the cold stuff in the fridge and left the rest on the kitchen counter. I don't think anyone anymore would leave the door unlocked for someone to deliver.

You can specify no substitutions

It was my first time and didn't think I would need to, after all I was selecting items that showed to be available.  I can understand one or two items out of the whole order needing a substitute but not the amount that I received.  I was shocked there were that many.  I assumed WalMart would have had a nice robust accurate inventory system.

Or was it harried employees just grabbing the closest thing in a rush if they didn't find the exact item right away?

Either way, I was disappointed.  And haven't used the service since....
