Greeting and salutations to all you fellow forum contributors.
I'm Dave. Yep just Dave; boring, mediocre, average every-day Dave, whom you will be tempted to call late for dinner if at all. I am traveling with my dog a mini red poodle who is slightly smaller than my ego, dumb as a box of hammers but way more cuddly than yours truly.
I sold my business, bought a used 21' Rockwood tow behind and fitted it out with 600W of solar and LiFePo4 batts, generator (which I don't use), Dish antenna (Which I also don't use) (That all took some doing and I STILL have part left over). My advise to my fellow n00bs - Don't over prepare!
I left Maryland January 7th 2018 and went to FL then across the lower 48 and I am now in the Sonoran Desert National Monument BLM. There's a mouth full - high and windy like its weather, but pleasant. However, the Winter, she breaking so it is getting a bit warm in the bottom lands and I want to transition Northward so as to take a different track when I head home at the end of April on this my first excursion from the 9-5 grind to freedom on radials.

So I have two questions:
Where do folks spend the shoulder seasons since it is too cool yet to move into Prescott/Sedona/Cottonwood/etc? (Keep in mind I am addicted to the Internet and NEED cell reception)
What is a good route to follow heading East in April?
Thank you fair contributors!
Your kindness is only exceeded by your extreme good looks:)

Welcome to the CRVL forums Dave! Sounds like you're having fun! :-D My advice on heading east is to check the weather forecast each day and chose your route that way.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

It's going to be at a private campground on the south side of the mountains. I will pm you more info tomorrow.

Welcome! I'm near Cottonwood now. It's been very pleasant but about to be in the 80s so I'm going to head up to about the 3k+ level depending on what I can find.

Bob has a YouTuber video series on exactly that, travel following the weather. Check out his channel with the four part series.

Hey there, Dave. I'm a newcomer too, so I really understand your question. I've thinner blood than most so 80's sounds good to me, ... even the 90's. But the advice about following your favorite temp sounds good. I've watched videos of Bob Wells and friends for a year, got out here Jan 2018 and feel it's much more challenging to find 'tribe' than I expected. I'm really loving 'Coyote Howls' park by the way, ... it's a gem of a place in Why, Az. Maybe a bit toasty now that April has arrived, but eastern Az and western NM is still pretty sweet this time of year.
Nice to hear from another newcomer, take care. Rebecca

Thanks Rebecca! I'm heading to Cottonwood myself. I don't like 90's so i'm going to gain altitude.
Enjoy Coyote Howls!
-Dave
