I don't know, Brad. I have seen some strange things down town.
 
In my Navy days as a radio tech, I kept an eight pound destruct maul (sledge hammer) stenciled with "Fine Adjustment Tweaker", at my workbench. Only had to use it once.

The lower tool looks like a sparkplug cap, to seal it while doing a compression test?
The upper one obviously has a good deal of length adjustment built in. Looks like something I may have seen long ago, but the memory is fuzzy.
 
gsfish, very good.

I worked a lot on vintage cars and the outer band on some harmonic balancers would slip over time , so I made the tools above.

They are just 2 spark-plugs cut down.

Can't seem to remember if I had to tap internal threads or not, been a few years!
