Congratulations. Being able to turn the passenger seat around will be a big plus. I would have kept the panel behind the drivers seat for safety and more space to hang stuff.

Took the partition out to enlarge space as it is only a 118 WB. Tough choice for sure.

Very cool, you must be very excited, I would!

It is beautiful and so are you with that great big smile on your face.

My neighbors ladies and I made a lot of progress today. Base floor in, bed built, two shelves under bed, furring strips in and some reflectix done.Ceiling piece cut and ready to go.

Hurry! Take those 2x4's out before HDR hears about it!

:p

Seriously....good work there ladies...best of luck to you....

Don't tell HDR, but I used 20 2x4s in my build!   I also used 12 gauge solid Romex.   If properly installed, it's approved by RVIA.

We do agree on not using house windows though.   Tempered glass and radiused frames are a must.

Great platform for a nice build. Keep the pics coming!

@tx2sturgis:
That's a lot of 2x4! I was trying to calculate weight I've added. Think it will be easier to have it weighed.

What or who is HDR? I think I used a total of 4 2x4s. I didn't think that was too bad.
Build is done but will need to stain it paint when I get to the SW. Too cold in MN now.

Today?  Singular?  You go girl(s)!  Takes me half a day to get around to carrying something out to the van.

I kinda like the looks of the bare wood. Maybe even a light paint wash would be cool.

For the clueless, what is a "paint wash"? I am currently building a small wooden box for my van, and have been wondering what would be the easiest and least nasally intrusive way to seal it, given my allergies.

It’s water with a bit of paint. You should still be able to see the grain of the wood through it. You can make it as opaque as you like. I’ll try to find a photo

Right now, I'm a bit leery of any sort of wood finishing chemicals, as I'm about to head to AZ to live in the van for the next 3 months, and any VOCs would destroy my sinuses. It's hard to find a non-allergenic option.

Here is one done with white paint but you can certainly use any color.

Kinda gives a breezy ocean feel to it. If it’s not covered enough you just add another coat. Takes very little paint.
