Hi everyone, just introducing myself.  I've been researching, watching videos and reading blogs for awhile now.  I've always been a gypsy at heart, but of course marriage, family and work found it's way to keep me in one place for far too long.  Now, I'm counting down till I can make my great escape.  I'm retiring in one year, eight months, two weeks, fourteen hours and 48 minutes.   But, who's counting.  My escape plan looks something like this:  in eight months I will purchase the RV (class B or C), rent out my house, live and work in the area for the following year, then some time in Sept 2018 -- I'll set out to begin the next chapter of my life. Meantime, I'm cleaning out the clutter and learning to simplify.  Thank you to Bob for your blog and video channel.

Hi Kathy Jo! Best of luck with your plans and all the adventures you get caught up in!

Welcome to the CRVL Forums   :)

You're among good people here and doing the right things to prepare yourself.   Any questions you may have,
you're in a great place to get answers.

I'll invite you to view my websites below for whatever insights you can gain from them.  The first one shows how I set up my first rig for week end camping and recreation.  The second is a portal of helpful information to use once you start down the road and you are out entirely on your own and must find your own way.

So, all the best to you !

I just wanted to update you all as to my progress.

In January 2017, I bought a 2003 Gulf Stream BT Cruiser model 5230 (24 ft with a slide), I did some minor remodeling and took care of any pending engine work.  It only had 39,000 miles on it when I got it but it appears it had had several leaks.  I took out the old carpet and linoleum and of course had the roof completely overhauled.

I retired a few weeks ago and expect to be leaving sometime this month.   Yippee!!

Also, started a YouTube channel to chronicle all of this.... although. That is definitely a challenge. Please check it out sometime if you'd like, it's called 'abumpyroad' https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCzZGPAo1HmCugOOZ3HyMtZQ

Ta da!

I am heading out soon from the PNW as well. Going to give this road life a try as well.
