In a lot of cities, the local govt provides indoor swimming facilities
with appropriate locker and shower facilities. Where I live ( Atlanta, GA )
the fee for access is $2 per visit which is extremely reasonable.

I enjoy those facilities too. And I usually don't just shower and go, I spend some time especially if they have a hot tub! Some have limited exercise facilities too with treadmills and weight machines. Might as well get your moneys worth. :)

Give me this over a hospital any time! (There's another thread going about using hospital facilities.)

I was a regular lap swimmer at our local municipal pool for many years, but the chlorine drove me nuts!!! (I felt like I was swimming in a chemical bath...which I probably was!!) :s

Now I swim at the lake up North of here. There's a fair amount of sediment in the water...but that stuff is organic at least, so I don't mind that nearly as much.

I've used pools on many occasions while out on the road, but I've gotten religious about wearing my shower shoes.
