What’s a good way to deal with mosquitoes when sleeping in a car?  The windows need to be open for ventilation.  I suppose screens could be made, but are there other suggestions?

screens are your best bet, unless you are into pesticide(Deet). highdesertranger

I use the no-see-um netting with magnets, and if some blood suckers already got it I flush them out with a ThermaCell. I also have the ultimate skeeter killing weapon Elucto Large Electric Bug Zapper Fly Swatter Zap Mosquito Best for Indoor and Outdoor Pest Control (2 DURACELL AA Batteries Included) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073PXV2GW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_KIDkBb90DJ5GS
In case of offenders that refuse to leave any other way.....

Being some one that the bloodsuckers love I have tried a lot of stuff. Spearmint is one natural repelant. You basicly rub the leaves between your hand then apply the the oil to your skin. I have tried a ton of stuff including over the counter stuff but not much has really worked for me. Those ticks, mosquitos, and even fleas eat me alive without biting anyone around me.

Where’d you get your no see um screen? Lots out there, and I’m wondering what’s best.

I ordered some noseeum netting, and will rig up some window covers. I’m going to try the magnet approach.

Attach them with Velcro?

Magnets could be an ideal method of attaching screens if your door has exposed metal in the right places. Home Depot has magnets reasonable priced. The super magnets hold really well - maybe too well as they can be hard to remove to the point they may tear the fabric/screen they are securing. HD also sells less powerful magnets as well. Magnets can be repositioned and don't leave velcro on the window frame, which necessarily would have to be secured with strong adhesive to withstand repeated application and removal of screening.

Screens on the outside and magnets on the outside. When you roll up the windows preparing to leave, nothing is trapped between the screen and the window. Pull magnets off and stack them, roll up screen. Stick magnet stack on inside metal where you can find it or in a easily located box.

I used the outside door edges as a guide and a couple of inches below the glass as a template. Cut around the mirror if necessary. 10 to 12 magnets per window. I think my magnet a 3/4" x 1". They are not neodymium as they are too strong and hard to get off. Using weaker magnets just means you have to use more of them.

I got a Magic Door Screen at a discount store for $5. It has 2 panels and magnets along one edge of each for easy entry/exit when used as a screen for a door. Instead I use a panel on each side of the RAV4. I attach the magnet side along the bottom of the driver and rear windows on that side, stretch it up over the open doors, shut the rear door with the non-magnet portion of the screen inside, then smooth the rest of the panel along and over the open driver's door, then tuck the non-magnet portion inside and close the door. Repeat on other side of the car, except after closing that rear door, I sit in the front passenger seat, pull the screen inside over the door top, then close the door on the screen. I can tweak the magnet portion from within through the open window if needed. I usually roll the windows up, leaving no room for a person's hand to reach inside, but enough for ventilation. More often, I do the passenger side first since there is usually a cooler and tons of stuff in that seat, then enter thru the driver's door and pull the screen over its top and close the door. I tend to keep the driver's seat empty in case I need to make a fast get away, LOL.

You can learn some tips made from natural to make a natural insect repellent. An example video here:
