So, I've been trying to find job as a camp host this late in the year, and panicking because I wasn't hearing back from anyone at all. But last night, I found American Land and Leisure on line, and sent an email with my resume, and followed up with an application, and this morning, they offered me a job at Sand Flat, in Stanislaus National Forest. Within an hour, of accepting that job, CLM called me back, so it looks like I will probably be camp hosting this summer at either Stanislaus, or Sierra National Forest!

I ordered my new solar suitcase this morning. Sadly, it had jumped up $20 in price in the past few days. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HR8YNK6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Then I went to town and shopped for trucks/SUVs and small travel trailers. That is going to be a lot more difficult than I even dreamed it would be. Found a perfect little travel trailer, and a great SUV to haul it, but was unable to work deals out as I needed them, so I walked away, without spending a penny. Which is huge for me, because I almost always jump, and regret it later.

Yesterday, I made $50 by selling used textbooks. I put $25 in my fuel envelope and $25 in my food envelope.

Tomorrow, I'm going to go do some yard work for my boss, and will set that money aside, too.

See how much I've learned already?

Any other tips would be welcome...

I think congrats are in order on both fronts. I have that problem of jumping in too sometimes.

I worked in Sequoia one summer when I was a young gun, best times of my life right there. Not sure I'd want to do that now.

Good luck and have fun!

Great news! Hope it works out well. I've met some really terrific hosts in my travels.
