I've had my Mobley since about 1/2017. It has quit connecting to the Internet. When I connect to the managment console, I get the "NO SIM" error message.
I called ATT and was told they no longer support the Mobley and I need to switch to another plan.

So, now, I'm considering other options. Any suggestions here in mid-2022? Other than the standard "Go play somewhere else!" or "Get a job!" . ok, just kidding.

Thanks in advance,

Pat

I have had a one-device cell booster from WeBoost for several years, and have found it very reliably boosts an existing, weak signal to one that is usable.

Plug it into your dash or an electrical outlet, if you have one, place the antennae on the roof and insert your cell phone.

Voila!

My Mobley is working fine... I'm on it right now.

Alternate unlimited plans:
Starlink
Visible
Calyx Institute
AT&T Tablet

My Mobley device has been safely stored away while the mobley sim has been in a Netgear 815s since shortly after I started on the connected car plan, going on 5 years. The device is so much more convenient to use than the Mobley and gets good speed and signal. Another popular alternative to the Mobley is the ZTE Velocity 923. Both of these devices are available on ebay for $30 - $40 and up. And the Nighthawk mentioned above is a nice upgrade while much more $$$.

I will never give up this plan as long as AT&T continues to support it.

It should be noted that your Mobley probably received an over-the-air firmware update around 2018 that locked the sim card to the mobley with an unknown PIN number. Users report getting the PUK (pin unlock key) code from ATT customer service or online chat to unlock the sim in order to use it in another device.
This is not something I would trust to an in-person rep at an AT&T store as they have incentive to upgrade you to a newer higher price plan, disabling the original plan.

Thanks, I've got a netgear 815s on order. But the agent told me I won't be able to continue with my plan. Grrrrrr... so, either she's wrong, I misunderstood her, or ATT will continue supporting it until they don't. anymore. Thanks for the reply.

Same, love it! I knew someone that had theirs repaired but other than me trying to get it started in the first place(years ago) I haven't had any issues.

I've got a PCs for People hotspot for backup. If you're poor enough you might get your interwebs for free.

I had to get mine "repaired" in 2019, which basically meant I paid $80 for a replacement. As far as I can tell, that's no longer being offered. From ZTE, that is. I tried to get a SIM card, but ATT told me they don't support the Mobley any more, and that was that.

As others have stated, I haven't had my Mobley sims in an actual Mobley since I've activated the lines. I currently have them in M1 Nighthawks. AT&T is very lenient with which devices you can use these in. I would highly suggest a much newer device. You'll have much better speeds. Plus if you get a Nighthawk you could actually have an Ethernet port as well. We have ours plugged into an Ampli HD mesh system. It covers our entire acre of property with some Wifi signal.
