Ryan is pictured with a blue tent and is a younger adult. Not sure what vehicle he is in or if he still has the tent after the wind.

If hes truly missing and was possibly around Flagstaff, checking with the Flag PD and Coconino SO may be worthwhile, they have a fair bit of contact with people coming through the area, its quite a travel corridor, and when i was around there, the Flag area had I believe the highest number of people they contacted with outstanding warrants from other areas.

Could be why he is missing. I am putting this out there due to the weather, would be bad if he needed help and was not found.

Well......if you read the article link that "you shared", you would see it was published by the station on Jan 3rd at 12:30 am. We sent the updates on the missing man prior to the 3rd and therefore he had not been found yet. Mine was sent on 1/2. Everyone's goal was to help spread the word on a missing person.

I hope he is fine and the family are relieved.
But it makes me wonder, what if he was just estranged from his family and didn't want to talk to them?
When I was younger I often would go months without talking to anyone in my family. Maybe even years.
My sister still gives me grief over this.
I think there is an instinct when you are younger to push away from your family.

The original alert mentioned "mental illness" which may have given his family cause to worry for his safety, if true. Maybe the family made that up to get the attention of law enforcement. Whatever the truth, he was contacted and determined to be safe.

Not to be argumentative, but I have seen several cases among my friends, of family members using 'mental illness' as an excuse to wield control over their lives. This becomes more prevalent if there is money involved.
Especially in our over diagnosed and over prescribed society where everyone is either ADHD or on the spectrum it's hard to find anyone who has never had some kind of mental illness, depending on how you define it. I'm ADHD, I've had 2 panic attacks in my life, 10 years apart. Do I have a history of panic attacks and cognitive impairment?
Maybe he does have mental illness, but how severely it impacts his ability to take care of himself is another matter.

So true. I have had "welfare checks" from time to time due to a relative's anxiety & phone system outages. It can be annoying when it happens.

Always better to make your own contact if possible. Welfare check comes right before a missing person report is filed.
