I had someone buy one of my solar systems today. He came down out of the mountains in a storm so I met them half way. He is mounting it on a 78 Econoline that has been converted to 4x4. I mentioned this site and how you all convert vans and he said that's what they are doing. So we may see him here, may not.

He had a E 250 when he picked up the system. I looked in the back and sighed. I miss my Econolines.

Cool. Wonder if we'll see him around...

I have an E150 and am kinda on the fence about it. I haven't had any problems... but I've put a 1000km since December. I just hate spending money on gas and keep wondering I made the right decision with a full size van. Mini vans are better in 3 key areas that are super important to me: 1. Stealth 2. Fuel expenditure 3. Parking.

Anyway, its certainly nice to have the room of a full sized van and I guess the grass is always greener on the other side.

I hope so. Seems like a nice guy too.

My Econolines with in line 300's got good gas mileage as long as I kept my foot out of it.

I've got an old maxi-van with a 318 and get 15/18 mpg, and a neighbor with a 2001 Astro says that's the all he can get on a good day, and it's usually less.
