maxxair deluxe malfunction

aloha all

my maxxair fan is inexplicably shutting down whenever i shut down my 2000w inverter.   it never did this before since it is wired directly to one of the batteries and im scratchint my head.   it's a pain in the arse so idlike to fis it.  

any ideas?   thanks so much!

Did anything change between when it worked and now? Did you install the inverter and then this started, etc.?

hi brian. no. it was always connected that way for about 6 mos with no problems. also, the maxxair shuts down intermittently if i unplug other appliances! bizarre.

The fan may be seeing a voltage spike from the other appliances as they shut down. Putting a capacitor in parallel to the fan may take care of that.

Then you have a loose connection somewhere or a wire that is about broken in two. Maybe a fuse for it that has partially melted but not all the way. A remote possibility is the fan motor is about done for.
