Inroads towards the mobile life are happening, we are heading out to buy a 2016 Nissan Frontier 4x4 today!  We owned a 2012 of that truck and really liked it, only got rid of it when my mom got sick and we needed a regular vehicle with a back seat.

It's older tech which satisfies the Luddite in me, and it can tow 6500 lbs, so a TT or cargo trailer will be no problem.

Happy that you are solving your transportation needs.

Thanks, the Subaru wasn't cutting it, we seem to have purchased the only glitchy Subaru ever, won't be sad to see it gone.

Worked the deal this evening and will pick her up tomorrow after work. Don't really care about what we drive, bit love the possibilities a truck offers!

Can't wait to see it Queen. I love buying new trucks but hate the stress.

Thankfully, our young truck salesman if the son in law of a good friend, we get the employee/family price as the "aunts".  I didn't mind owning the Subaru, but it was way too glitchy for my tastes.

Glad to hear you're making mobile plans again...last I recall you were feeling that it wasn't going to be possible

We got realistic and figured out two of us in a van wasn't an option, too cramped, too much climbing in and out on a daily basis.  We will probably get a little Casita to tow at some point, but meanwhile back at the ranch we'll travel using cabins/tent (with comfy cots)/hotels.

Picked it up last night and love it already!  Cannot wait to get a topper on her and fill her up with camping gear!!

Thanks, Muddy! Went topper shopping today, so fun to back in a truck.

Sure can't wait to get out there again. Hurricane Matthew seems to be kicking our plans in the ass at the moment. Hey, who needs a savings account anyway?

Great to see you are agile enough to be using a topper, I just have a 8 ft bed and a slide in hard side but it does accommodate my lifestyle I miss my chevy truck with the topper way less complicated That truck will serve you well congrats

Nice looking truck, now how about a cargo trailer conversion? wouldn't weigh anymore than a Casita if you kept the size to around 6x12, and you could build it exactly how you wanted it.

It was on the table for a while, then we decided we wanted a finished package.  But I started looking at our comfy chairs and thinking about the excellent bed I could build in a cargo trailer, and it's back on the table.  I bet I could set it up the way we want for less than half the cost of the Casita.

Problem is finding a trailer light enough you can insulate and fill the way you want and still maintain gas economy and speed you wish. It may be possible but aluminum trailers ain't cheap.
