Last week I bought 1979 chevy corsair. It was loated about 80 miles from my home so I had to work some things out in order to bring her home. I was able to drive it home this morning. It was a scary ride. The tires are old and I didnt know what to expect but I made it the whole way home without any problems. It needs lots of work but I feel good about the way it ran. I will be posting more details and questions. Thanks again for the support.

Hey Howard,
Congrats on the corsair. Not familiar with it. Is it a class c motorhome? If so, I had a 82 Chevy Shasta class c and they probably were quite similar. If you have old tires you should replace them first (won't be cheap). I had a blowout on the inside rear tire on the driver's side and it damaged the exhaust pipe nearby. Just glad it wasn't a front tire. Wasn't fun changing out the bad tire on the side of the interstate, nor repairing the tailpipe. What size tires do you have on it now? I had 16.5" tires and found out they were obsolete, but found that Firestone still makes 16.5 tires. They're called Transforce and were around $120 ea. Had to be ordered. Post some pics when you can. Good luck.
Its a class c. The tires are 16.5. Im going to replace them, probably the front tires first and the rears later. I took tools and a jack with me for just in case I had any trouble. I had a chance to tinker with it today and I cant find the jack or lug wrench does anyone know where they might be stored. I looked every where I could think of?

Is the spare slung under between the frame rails -- look under the passenger seat for the lowering crank ---- or tucked under the hood ---- the jack could be in the spare rim ?

P / S - do they make a chilton manual for them ----

The spare is mounted on the rear bumper but it doesnt look factory it looks like it was added. Ill look under it again and see if I see anything.

Thanks

Howard

Check the storage areas underneath the dining room seats. Lots of room there to store heavy stuff.
