Livin' the dream in N. Central Minnesota

I'm still at it. I've been working in the Pine River, MN area since July 4th. One of my daughters lives in this neck of the woods so I've been plugged in there. She keeps trying to get me to move into the house but I just sleep better in the van. I've been here working for so long I brought my car to work out of so the van has been setting for a couple months in the same spot. I put a new master cylinder in the brake system last night and fired it up and moved it to make sure&nbsp; the brakes were working and everything is fine. I still had brakes but they were bypassing &amp; getting spongy so took this opportunity to fix; who knows where I'll end up this winter.<br /><br />I've made a number of changes to the van&nbsp; but still haven't put the solar on yet; I've been working to many hours to mess with it. I'll need to do that soon as I'll not have the luxury of plugging in when this job is done.It's looking like I'll be working here until mid November or so.<br /><br />Anyway just wanted to drop in and say howdy &amp; thank Bob and everyone for all the advise while I was getting this van all situated. This is a great asset to anyone diving into the endless pool of highway's &amp; campsites <img src="/images/boards/smilies/cool.gif" alt="" align="absmiddle" border="0" />.<br /><br />If any of you are in or near the area let me know if you want to meet up. I see things are cooling down out there in Pine River. &nbsp;How are you dealing with the cold at night? &nbsp;I've only recently moved into my van and the cold is something I'm going to have to start dealing with.

Right now I'm just using a little electric heater set real low on a thermostat. I'm parked in my daughters yard in the country so I'm plugged in. If I were not plugged in I'd just use the Buddy heater to take the chill off and roll up in the sleeping bag at night when it is off. The electric heater only comes on a couple times at night in this weather. It is amazing how much body heat one person can produce inside an insulated van. <br />Last night it was 30 degree's. Heater maybe came on once in the night and once toward the coldest part of the morning after initial warm up last evening.<br />Depending on where you live you may get by with a little buddy heater. In the northern climes you'll need a double buddy or "Big Buddy" &amp; 12V circulating fan to keep warm in the height of winter.<br />In northern climes you will want to partition off the cab from your living space; as suggested by rvbob for a number of reasons.<br /><br />Learn to enjoy living life deliberately; anybody can live life by accident!<br /><br />gus
