Hi all!
Living in my 5th wheel since 2017 when hurricane Harvey hit here in Tx. Stationary (I don’t even have a tow vehicle for it) on my own (heavily wooded) acreage, not quite off grid although I’d like to be.  Recently picked up a ‘99 diesel pusher (a Bounder) very cheap, needs gutting and interior rebuild, drivetrain is fine though. That’s a far off finish for sure though.
No plans for a full time traveling lifestyle, nor plans to go back to a stick and brick (and the taxes that accompany one).
For now, just keeping my 25’ 2005 Hornet functional and live able is challenge enough. I sometimes feel like I’m getting too old for this, but I’m too stubborn to have it any other way, lol!

welcome to the forum! if your in East Texas you might be sitting beneath some Loblolly pines which i miss...my family was
from Jacksonville area. good luck with your project as i'm sure it will keep you busy ;)

Welcome Spot to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome spot86t. Glad to have anyone even those who are not nomads. It sounds like you’ll have a good bit of input and answers to questions about builds if you’re capable of those projects. I can identify with feeling too old to do this. My health has been really bad in many ways but I keep plugging along. Sounds like you have a lovely property.

trees are our friends. Ronald Reagan was criticized greatly for saying that trees produce oxygen for us to breathe. Another case of people thinking they knew better because of their politics not because of their education. Truth is that without trees we would be in deep trouble for oxygen in this world. They are the recyclers and cleaners of our air. I’ve done some fascinating video watching and reading in the past several years about trees. there are lots of secrets about trees including the way they communicate. Yes it’s been proven they communicate with each other. Now if we humans would learn to communicate with each other this world might improve.

btw Naturelover, Reagan was criticized for saying "trees cause more pollution than automobiles" so not sure where you got your story?

Txmmnjim. You are so right and I am so wrong. I attributed that quote to Ronald Reagan but I cannot at this time think of who said it and was ridiculed for it. Trees do pollute releasing organic hydrocarbons., as temperatures go higher. Depending on the political leaning of a Website you’ll find people supporting his statement and others denying it. It is scientific fact the trees do pollute. I stand corrected.

I am trying to rack my brain as to who I was trying to quote but it wasn’t Reagan. when trees are doing their job under normal temperature conditions they are filtering the air I just made a mistake and put in the wrong guy. Sorry it’s not the first mistake I ever made, maybe the second.
