I pretty much agree. Similar could be said for some people with disabilities (tho with less direct dangers from others). I'm Deaf and it have been very difficult for me to hold onto a job that actually pays well enough to lives off without being a deadend job. So I'm currently stuck on disability pays while I'm traveling looking for a better place to get a job in and develops skills in the meantime (actually have a potential distance job lined up in about a year once a friend's business is ready to grow and hire more, but only if I'm picking up the requesite skills before then). I've met a number of other Deaf people who lived nomadically, at least for a short while, for very much the same reasons.

I'm finding myself to fall under the Lgbt umbrella and is still figuring stuff out (basically repressed myself a lot growing up and whatnot). And I had noticed a good number of queer nomad groups and whatnot online (tho some of them are well hidden) so I was wondering about that as I've not exactly experienced the risk of being kicked out and the like due to being queer (jobs that works with Deaf communities like I've had in the relevantly recent past tends to be very open minded about Lgbt and whatnot, just doesn't usually pay enough). Thanks for sharing the article!

Gee, did we just forget about the couple of dweller gals murdered in Utah?

IMHO dwelling not necessarily safer than any other lifestyle.

That’s just one instance, Crofter. Yes, there’s some inherent risk to lifestyle, but it is still removing many unsafe factors that a queer person may not be able to control. I mean, I’ve heard of shooting, murders, etc… of queer people happening all over the place and practically 95% of them was living a traditional lifestyle regarding to housing and locations. So the very few instances of this happening to a queer nomadic lifestyle just isn’t enough to claim that it’s more dangerous than the traditional lifestyle to be honest.

The fewer people anyone of any type lives among, the lower the chances of being mistreated.

Not familiar with this but it doesn't sound good.

Anyone anywhere can be a victim...stuff happens.

Unfortunately there are bad people in this world. Some of them looking for trouble live in cities and towns, and some of them are on the road looking for trouble.

But we just have to be careful, be aware, and try to be prepared and safe.

The big advantage to living on the road is that if you're in a place offering trouble of some kind, you can leave. You can't do that easily in a S&B.

If I recall correctly, those two women knew about the creep, but they didn't get very far away. If you run into a similar type of situation, get the 'ell out of the area (w/o advertising), gay or not.
