I was watching Enigmatics, and came across this forum. I bought an old jeep for the soul purpose of traveling cheap this summer. I'm hoping I can pick your brains for information. Like others, I'm pushing 50 and would like to see more of the world while I still can.

JT, welcome to the CRVL forums! There are a couple of threads about jeep dwelling here, somewhere, that may help. But we're all happy to offer and opinion and advise.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Here are the search results using *jeep* in the title, for starters

Hi and welcome.

What kind of jeep?  Plan to do anything to it?

Welcome to CRVL.   :)

Are you going to pack a tent,  tow a small trailer ?
It would be interesting to hear how you are going to
go about this.

You're welcome to check the two links below to see if there
is any info in them that may be of benefit to you.

The first one is about converting a Van, but the methods
could apply to a 6 X 10 box trailer as well.

The second site may have useful info for once you are traveling.
It can help with figuring out what to see, how to get there, weather
forecast, and many other issues you will face while being on the road.

What Jeep Model? I traveled in Jimmy for 18 months, I was traveling on minimal equipment. Sleeping bag and pad , ice chest, Coleman one burner propane stove and lantern, covered cooking pan a few utensils and clothes. My bed was behind drivers seat, all else was on other side. Met man from
KY traveling the same way in GEO Tracker, he removed passenger seat and build bed in that area.

Good luck to you, Have a ball, and don't forget to get a Road Atlas. Best Frank
