Howdy all.  Been pondering the nomad life for a while.
I have a TON of questions and research before I bite the bullet.

Welcome!
Tell us about yourself, obviously your name is Bob?

Where do you live?

What vehicle do you have?
Post a photo of it, we all LOVE photos!

Hi! I'm new here too. There is a huge amount of info already in both the blog (handy tags along the right side of the screen) and in the forums. You may want to spend some time browsing there, but people here also are friendly and helpful. Can you tell us a bit more about yourself and what you're considering doing?

Welcome NomadBob to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you. highdesertranger

Welcome to the CRVL Forum   :)

We love meeting nowcomers who are curious about this alternate life style Then helping them to decide
if it's for them and helping them make the transition to it if it is.  There are many ways of living it,  so Lurk
& Learn and ask you some questions when they occur to ya.

Current vehicle is a Chevy HHR. Not good for living in at all. *Just* misses length to sleep in. (but have a few times in a pinch)
But I am using it to gauge, and test out stuff.
Currently 2 solar panels totalling ~100W strapped to the underside of the roof rack (so rack is still usable)
2 additional group 29 Marine deep cycles with an isolator. 400W inverter (with a 2000watt in the wings to be installed.)
Working out some cooking details now.
And *carefully* researching toilets/shower/holding tanks.

My ideal, would be a shuttle bus conversion (like the ones that used at the airport to get to rental cars. A poked out on sides and top and *diesel*. I'll convert to diesel if needed, not much a problem tight now where i'm at.)

I don't know if you've seen this or not.

I'd bet on a Ford E 450 Shuttle with the 7.3 V8 Diesel or one with a gas 460 V8.   If your in the colder north I'd go gas.   If you are below the 37th degree lattitude Diesel may be a better choice.  (just my view on Diesels)

If you are on the northern boarder(s) of North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, Oklahoma, New Mexico, or Arizona
or below....during the cooler months the Diesel may give you good service.  During the summer months you could go far into the north comfortably with a Diesel.   I don't think you'll want to get trapped in cold weather
with a Diesel that isn't equipped for "cold weather" operation.   At the very least you would want a way of heating your engine and fuel supply.
