what happened to the refer?  how for from the alternator to the aux battery?  you might need some larger cable.  highdesertranger

Now that I've gottn into the actual install more I have found that the battery box will not fit where I thought it would.  In the new location the batteries will be the length of the van from the Alt, ~13ft. 

Is that an issue?

yep, you need some big wire. I would say 6 gauge is the minimum 4g better. highdesertranger

Actually routing the wire cleanly so that it is secure, and cannot chafe, usually increases the length needed, and perhaps by a substantial amount.

I have 11 feet between my alternator and house battery, located under my floor behind drivers seat, while if I could measure directly it would be about 6.5 feet.
