Is Reflectix on My Front Side Windows Stealth?

I am new to this forum and the exciting idea of stealth RVing seems right up my alley. It's winter here in the Pacific Northwest and that means a lot of moisture on the insides of the windows. I am interested in privacy and moisture control for my SUV camper. After studying this site I decided Reflectix was a good idea for all of the side windows and a folding Reflectix-type sunshade on the front windshield.

While purchasing my sunshade the checker asked me, "Do you really think you're gonna get a chance to use this?"
I live in a friendly small town so I smiled and said, "Well...".
Then she goes, "Lets hope so right?"

That got me thinking. As you know, that type of moisture is only really a problem in the Fall and Winter. Am I just raising more curiosity by using Reflectix and a sunshade in the Fall and Winter? I will work on a vapor barrier behind the cab, as also suggested on this site but I like my two heavy dogs to sleep up front. I just wanted to ask people with actual experience if I am thinking along the right lines. Do people get suspicious when they see your Reflectix? Is there an even better solution that I don't know about yet?

Thank you

Reflectix just screams out to a lot of people that something is out of the ordinary.

I would make sure that the side facing out is black, so it just looks like tinted windows, and anything on the side front windows looks suspicious, as would a windshield cover if it wasn't during the summer.

This also brings to mind another point in the cooler times of the year. I don't want my windows covered, so I can take advantage of heat from the sun. It saves me a bunch in heating costs on sunny days.

Myself, I think this whole idea of stealth is over hyped. I think neighbors and cops know exactly what you're doing anyway, and the trick is to find places where they don't care. Generally the cops won't bother you if nobody complains.

I usually try to park near large apartment complexes that have a lot of overflow parking on the street. There I can blend in and everybody just figures you're visiting someone who lives there, and the fact that you're staying in your vehicle isn't overly suspicious.

Good Luck!

I don't know about the general public, but whenever I see reflectix in a vehicle window, I think, "Aha! Another vandweller!"

Lol. Best bet is to make your vehicle look just like all the other vehicles. Reflectix screams 'look, I am over here'. Now disguising it so it looks like tinted windows as mentioned above, that would probably work.

Thanks for all the help. I am learning that I can be semi-stealth because I camp in free places like certain casinos and rest stops. I don't want people to know I'm camping in my fully curtained SUV, but if they are aware then no harm. The Reflectix sun shade is working, as recommended, to keep heat from escaping the dash.

Tinting indeed. Couple that with dark curtains and you're good to go.

Just not good for retaining heat, as mentioned.
