Is it paranoid to think someone might want to steal my dog?

This is not a silly worry.  There are all types of people out there.  I have known many people whose dogs have been stolen out of their yards or cars and have heard that it is becoming more common.  I'd lock my pet in my car to run into a store for a few minutes if it wasn't the least bit hot but otherwise wouldn't leave them there for long.  You are being a good dog-parent to worry about this.
