Tell us what is open where you are.

Although many in Arizona have been staying home, you can hike and camp here. Due to virus rates still going up, you will want to practice social distancing, and use a mask and other safety precautions.

Post links if ya got em. No discussion of political or back and forth. We just need to know what's open. Thanks.

This link was forwarded to me for a NYT article on all states and their status on reopening for business. I suggest also checking your destination park to make sure it will be open. All links listed above will search down to your exact park and activity.

Some New Mexico State Parks are open for day use only. No word on camping at this point.

I'm boondocking in the Kaibab National Forest in Arizona. Some of the developed sites are closed but around here disbursed camping is OK. There are probably 30 or more campers in this particular site. Perfect weather up here a 7400 ft.

I rented a mailbox about 20 miles from here for three months hoping I can hang around here (this general area, not this site. There's a 14 day limit here) until The Grand Canyon National Park reopens. No word on that yet. I checked again today. Would love to see it before I croak. I do understand why it's closed and that's not an issue with me

In Washington state all government owned campgrounds are currently closed. Some state parks are now open for day use only. Some of the private campground that had at least a few long term residents in them were able to get the designation as being essential so they have stayed open.

In the towns that allow overnight sleeping in vehicles stealth camping is available in areas that are not otherwise posted for no parking during certain hours.

Washington state highway rest stops are mostly open with the usual restrictions on how many hours you can stay there. There is drinking water and waste dumps at some of them.

There is now an official "phase plan". Currently in phase 1 except for the counties that have had very few cases. Those counties are now allowed to apply for exemptions to phase 1 to begin reopening various things.

Phase 2 is when camping will begin to be considered for opening some of the camping activities on state, federal agencies, county, city and more of the private facilities. The link shows the outline of the phased recovery plan.

Each state government will have their own plans in place or are working on such plans. These documents can typically be found on the website for the Governor of each state.

Thanks for the Washington info, Maki. I did notice that MRNP is listed as open. Looked it up and listed as backcountry only, no vehicle access on May 4.

Texas, as of May 1:

All beaches are open, including the ones in cities that had previously been closed.

State parks, with a very few exceptions, have been reopened for day use only; facilities are limited and distancing is required.

The pool is finally open again. 105 in the shade today, I'm jumping in.
