Reading this thread reminds me of why I migrated to this forum in the first place. The rv forum I used to frequent thought you were substandard if you considered anything smaller than a 30' C or a 35-40' A. Imagine how many of them tried to talk me out of a 25' C with no slides? I would love to go back and tell them I have pretty much settled on a 21'6" C with no slide. LOL

cleanheart, don't know where your at, but you might look at taking your hides to living history events to sell. there would be a great need for such as the reenactors use them to make clothes, shoes, all kinds of things and often have trouble finding the hides. you'd be in a setting where plenty would want them and just can walk up and purchase. you can set up a spot to sell and rental is pretty cheap.
we did LH events for 3 years, it was so much easier to just be able to walk up to sellers, see what we wanted and buy there.
also, smoke and fire is a website that caters to LH and you might be able to sell them your stuff. just a thought.

cleanheart, look at http://frontierfolk.net/mb/ and sites like it. Go to the trade blanket or round robin threads to sell your hides. Check for mountain man era rendevoux in your area. Folks attending these events will buy your hides. Luck be yours

Aunt Meg and owl, thanks for the suggestions! I love your ideas and I think they might even work. I'm going to check into it. I have two hair on right now and only one buckskin at the moment. In the fall I'll have more of course, with hunting season. This is exciting for me. I never even thought about these places.
Thanks!
and owl, I like your signature!
