inverter question

I have 2 100 watt solar panels, 2 6volt deep cycle batteries, and a 400/800 inverter, the inverter started beeping in the middle of the night, do i need a bigger inverter?

I would think it started beeping due to low voltage. I would shut it off at night if you are not running anything. If you do run something at night you may need a bigger bank and solar to support it.

yeah, even if you're not using any 110v appliances, the inverter is still drawing power from your batteries at all times when it is on. Odds are it's just as Jim said, a low voltage alarm. The purpose is to prevent batteries from draining below 50% 'ish which greatly shortens their life span...
