Hello All.

I ran across this forum while researching van conversions.  It looked to me like a group of amenable people with the commendable goal of sharing information and helping others.

I've been on many a forum over the years (and am still on a couple).  Unfortunately, most of them, over time, lose track of their initial goals and become fractured into groups who let their personal goals/desires overcome the initial, stated, good intentions of the forums.

It's always sad to watch that happen over time, and I have quietly signed off of those forums and moved on.  Maybe it's an inevitable life-cycle of internet forums, but I hope that's not true.

At any rate, a little about me.

My wife and I started out camping in a tent when our family (two girls) were small.

We then acquired a small (22ft) travel trailer which we used for many years.

I later fell under the sway of "needing" a 30ft class A Motorhome, and we traveled in that for a number of years.

After we retired to Mississippi (her birth state and where most of her family are), we downscaled to a 23.5ft class C Motorhome.

At this point in time, my wife does not wish to travel/camp any longer, but I am still drawn to the backroads and the desire to see new places.

Last year, I made a solo 5 week cross country trip in the class C, and during that trip I decided that while I really like the class C, it is really more than I need, or want. at this stage in my life.

So we are selling the class C and I have acquired a 1998 Ford E350 Chateau van (see my avatar) which I will be converting into a camper van.

I won't be a fulltimer, but will set it up so that I could use it that way in the future, should the need/situation arise.

I have spent many hours perusing the forum, not only looking for useful information, but trying to get a "feel" for it's operation and membership.

I like what I have seen and thus have registered as a member.

Hopefully I will be able to contribute in some ways to the forum as time goes on.

Thanks to the owner for the forum, to the moderators for their efforts, and to the members for their contributions.

Thanks Cyndi.  I'll put RTR on my "bucket list".  Gotta lot of sellin' and preppin' in the meantime though.
