install solar panel, but leave it disconnected?

yeah, just a simple question i can't find the answer to.
can i install the panel by itself without connecting anything to it for now? just leaving the wires hanging on the bottom? i dont have batteries for it yet but i want to get it up there. it would have to stay that way for maybe a week or two.
i just want to make sure it won't hurt anything if it's up there making power and having nowhere to send it.

As Adrian said, Yes just be sure to keep the wires from shorting.
 
A good way to keep the wires from touching is to put a wire nut on each separate wire. Or just tape em with electricians tape.
 
You do know that all the sun light you lose, you can never recover? :)
