In Washington state the people voted for $30 vehicle tabs but the governor, attorney general and mayor of Seattle said it would cost the state to much money and they wouldn't be able to honor it's agreement with road and light rail projects and ignored the people's vote and pretended our votes never existed. Now there talking about new taxes for roads and gas as well as pay by the mile taxes.
