Hello,
Found my new solar generator. Pricey but well worth it I think. I'm disabled so this will help A LOT on the road. Spoke with them at length today and I've never experienced such good customer service. Thanks Jared! They also have financing available. I'm going to use this for back up in my house and then in my RV.

Anyone have any experience with this generator or company? I was VERY impressed with the size, weight and overall quality of this generator so I'm gonna pony up and buy it as I do not want to hassle of buying all the stuff that goes with solar power.

Any idea on the AH (amp hour) capacity of the battery? Quoting in watts is not that meaningful.

Bizarre to me to call a battery+inverter a "generator", maybe if it included panels. . .

Expensive for a tiny battery pack. You will need to plan for solar panel(s) to keep it charged. Electrial loads will need to be kept moderate, as capacity isn't great.

No. F'n. Way.

Your money though. Best of luck.

It's a small lithium battery with an inverter in a fancy box.

The Kodiak User Manual says:

Lithium Ion (Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt
Oxide, NMC) 1000 watt continuous for 1 hour,
3000 watt peak
12.6V DC, 90AH

The AC wall charger takes 10 hours at 60 watts.  That's a 9 amp charger, battery similar in capacity to a pair of GC2s , 1500 watt PSW, and a 40 amp MPPT solar charge controller for $1749.99.  Solar panels available soon.  The integrated box and the lithium batteries make it nice and light weight but the price is high.

To me a solar generator is when you have so much panel that it generates enough power that you can run things without depleting your battery. I know it's a pain to figure out your needs and learn how to handle them but this is neither solar or a generator.

way expensive and yes very deceptive with their advertising. I agree that is not solar and it is not a generator. most people don't carry their batteries and invertor around with them. they are mounted in a vehicle. is there some reason you need it portable? you could build that system in your vehicle for 1/4 the price. highdesertranger

This product simply shows that modern product marketing is barely any different than outright lying and deceit.

Rife in the solar game I've noticed

Hello Everyone,
Thank you so much for your replies. I really really appreciate all the input. You see, I'm very limited in arm use after an accident, thus I don't want anything heavy or complicated. If you watch the videos of it from this guy (LDSprepper) it looks like what I need. To use it for a little AC, fan, lights, recharge Lap. long term boondocking. ect.... I don't want to have to buy five things to make one thing. The less complicated the better and I don't have anyone here to help me if I tried. :)

I really want to full time, but my physical ability is greatly limiting me in what I can do so I'm trying to figure it all out in the most simplistic easy way-. Hope that makes sense. :) I don't want to have to buy a bunch of wires and devices, then figure out how to install them, it is just too much for me. It does have solar panels or you can add your own.

I spoke with this guy and he couldn't be a nicer person and was extremely helpful. Customer service and reliability to important to me in case I run into a problem with solar on the road.

I also need it for home use. I live in Florida and cannot be without electricity during hurricanes or our frequent power outages. I stupidly bought a 3000 watt gas generator and it's still in the box in the garage where UPS put it because I can't even move it and certainly not lift it. :)

Multiple reviews of the Kodiak from this guy as well. Several videos from both guys. What do you think?

Hopeful

LDS is was given the unit and will make money off of the sales. It is a commercial. Anything that that panel will recharge in four hours will not run much for long.

I'm aware of this but he is NOT a bad guy and has integrity. He acknowledged this and doesn't endorse anything he doesn't like. This is why I looked at other videos.

that review you posted does not give me confidence. 30amp RV outlet with a 10amp max output, what? it sounds like you have already made up your mind on this you just want us to agree with you. sorry, I can't give it the thumbs up. I still say it's way overpriced. also if you ever want to hook it up to solar you are going to have make a custom wire harness. when you get it give us a review. highdesertranger

NO I haven't completely made up my mind know that I've read all these posts. They offer universal solar adapter. Don't get me wrong if I had someone in my life or could find someone local to help me with solar when I get my rig, I would ask them but this isn't the case. My biggest reason to get this is the size and weight and simplicity Do you think a private person could make something simiar for me, that is lightweight and simple like this?
