Hmmmm...... unless they really expand that set of statements, the reporter has no knowledge of the subject. He sounds like a CNN blow-dried moron.

Sound like they would like to use the piece as a putdown of the American system, to influence their biggest audience that the USA is vulnerable, and needs a different form of government.

No thanks

Our "form of government" is fine, it's the rats that hold public office that need to go.

(This is a NON political statement, it nether supports or attacks any political party)

Sorry to be late getting back, I have been so busy lately that I am way behind on everything in my life and the interview consumed a lot of my time and energy.

You are all smarter than I am, you are right, today was recorded and will be broadcast Sept 15 th. I was told I would get a link that I could hand out for people to see it so hopefully you can all see it soon.

I don't believe it is a hack job at all. I think they are just jumping on the bandwagon that Jess Bruder started with her Harper article. In fact Jess was on the show also. But it bounced around to too many topics and became so watered down that nothing was covered. There were three segments, One segment was on those of us who do this from necessity, one segment was on those who do it by choice and the final segment was on the technomadia couple. I was on all three segments but there were so many people I felt like I contributed very little.

I got my hopes up that I could say the things I wanted to say and tell the stories I wanted to tell but there was no time. I wasn't censored, I think they honestly wanted to hear the stories, they just tried to do too much in too little time.

When I have a link I will post it and we can all see what they did with it.
Bob

Sounds like they need to follow this up with a sort of 'series', with each of the three areas covered in ONE program episode. Maybe if there is enough interest, they will see the need to do so?

Dazergaidin, I think you are right, even news agencies have to be as much or more entertainment than news. In America, sound bites get ratings, long, thoughtful discussions don't.

LeeRevell, I'm hoping for that, but I don't have any expectations of it.
Bob

Oh well Bob, you did the best they would let you. We just wait and see and maybe pleasantly surprised.

I just hope that this recent trend of interest in vehicle living won't lead to a "reality" exploitation TV show where the producers go out of their way to show this community in a bad light.

Guy

Hopefully they dont comb through all these posts to see whats been said! This place needs Fawn Hall, QUICK!

"Crazy Van Preppers!"

Film at eleven.....

I know Bob is a bit skittish especially around sexually oriented by-sex males. THAT UNDERSTOOD He would be a great spokesperson for all of us ...Thank you

I personally would like to say "Thank you" to Bob.
He not only has lived this life of freedom, he also has illustrated it...A modern day Theraou.

Whatever line they take, we all know the truth.

"A cycle of low wages, poor pensions and expensive real estate is leading a growing group of aging Americans to become nomads in their own country. They crisscross from state to state in their RVs, looking for temporary work. These are not outliers. They’re average elderly Americans with no place to call home. Join the conversation Monday, September 15 at 12:30 p.m. ET."

You can see where they're going with this.

I like Al Jazeera news. Straight forward, although they always emphasis the word 'illegal' whenever mentioning Israeli actions. Their facts are accurate. Their bloggers contain pundits who spin stories just like all news service pundits. One must learn to differentiate, no matter which news one watches. The interviewer will probably report facts, while leaving an impression that may not be totally correct. Unless I'm mistaken, Bobs decision to van dwell was not prompted by the reasons in the blurb. Nor was he an 'aging American' at the time lol. But we'll see...

Bob. Nice job representing the community on TV. I see you had more to say, but limitations are what they are. Thought the presentation was informational and without bias.
