I'm going to be interviewed tomorrow on Al Jazeera America and I wanted to alert you if you were interested in seeing it.

After the Harpers story on older Americans forced onto the road many news agencies have picked up the story. Jess Bruder, the author of the Harpers story will be on and several other people. In a later segement the Technomadia couple will be on later.

I don't even understand how or where to see it, you are on your own to figure that out. Here is the website for the show:

I have no idea if this is correct, but I've noticed every station has a bias. FOX to the right, TYT to the left, RT towards Russia. Is it possible that All Jazeera is looking for ways to put the U.S. down? I've never read/seen any of their publications, so I have not a clue.

I first watched Al Jazeera English after the 2011 Tsunami for the excellent commercial free coverage, and continued watching afterward, because their world news is actually World news and surprisingly unbiased.

The crap we see on ABC CBS NBC or whatever is simply horrid crap and a just way to sway public opinion and force pharmaceutical commercials on the public to get them to act as paying Guinea pigs. Main stream Media in this country is disgusting.

I urge all people to watch as many outside news sources as possible to get a wider perspective.

You don't have to take every source as gospel but getting a Non American opinion is enlightening

I used to stream AJE online but they took it off for some reason.

I'll watch any Foreign news service over what passes for world news on any of the major affiliates in this country. PBS stations seem to have a lot from Japan, Germany Britain, China, Holland.

I used to watch RT online too, but more recently every time I did so my email account got highjacked and spam with .ru link was sent to all my contacts.

Have fun with it Bob. Hope they portray you correctly when edited. Sadly, I'd trust AJE to do it better than any of our networks.

Totally agree with you. I watch BBC very often and sometimes France24 English, but actually havn't thought about tuning in Al Jazeera yet. As you say, in my opinion it's very improtant to get outside views on especially political topics.
I came across a chart about the comparison of trustworthiness of different TV stations, amongst others Al Jazeera. unfortunately it's just for the UK, would be very interested if there would exist such a comparison for US stations.

I'm most happy to hear that! I too distrust US news. (FOX makes me wanna puke.) I've also been told the others aren't much better, so I rarely watch. I will look up AJE as I truly would enjoy some truth in my news. Your knowledge was invaluable in this situation, and for that I thank you.

Was wondering if the Harpers article would catch attention. It's spun towards telling everyone it's horrible to live on the road as a SOCIAL SECURITY or less income retired person. Think we need more news about how to be creative with alternative economy. This AJ interview is a start.

While I fond FOX to be by far the least egregious of the American networks, the foreign networks are much less biased, as they 'have no dog in the fight', and can report the actually facts with less colorizing for a particular agenda. We as a nation make enough of a fool of ourselves, they don't have the need to go further. Sometimes, it simply takes an outsider to show the true local situation.
I was once interviewed on NPR, expecting a hatchet job done on me, as I was attending a gunshow at the time. They asked me for my views on certain related topics. I was surprised, they played it straight. Lucky I wasn't on CNN or PMSNBC. ;-)

What the local news stations calls news is a joke. Armed with my trusty multy-band radio powered by the sun I find going to the left very informative placement of stations is like placement of food in any supermarket eye level target but if you go out of eye level you will find better deals. Go for it Bob.

It's funny. Europe looks at American news about Europe. Because reporters can be unbiased without fear of blacklist. Now we will do similar.

You all are doing a great job of keeping this thread non-political. Kudos! And just to be clear, I'm not being sarcastic. People who sell the news, quite often, have a political agenda.

However, this thread is about Bob's interview. Back to the subject at hand.

What will Bob be wearing?
Will he get a hair cut and/or shave?
Will he be interviewed at his camp site?
Will he go all Hollywood on us, after?
Is this another Reality show in the making?
Enquiring minds want to know!
