If you have been able to keep a good credit score then you are responsible enough to figure out how to pay and what you need to do.
I doubt I'd do anything I wasn't really sure of, and again, I appreciate your input because will be hoping I can get some seasonal work as well.  And also, hoping to find a less expensive rig that will work for me.  Thanks again, I want to be conscientious about it, but hopefully not just sit and try to save for maybe years ;)  I just don't think that's realistic at my age.  Some folks say not to think about age but for me, it isn't very realistic.
I'm fairly healthy but certainly not in perfect health.  One reason I want to make sure I would be comfy as possible.

We found a smaller travel trailer worked well for us. If you are concerned about your tow vehicle there are options especially if you are working seasonally and only moving a few times a year.

I hadn't thought too much about a trailer I could pull with my truck.  One reason of course is the age and mileage of my truck, '94 Mazda B3000 Cab plus.  I always, or try to always mention the "cab plus" because that's such a great place to put extras, but adds to weight too.  I will look around at something smaller but sort of doubt anything light enough I could afford.  Those tear-drops are so, high-priced, even used.  I remember my Grandpa and Grandma having their Rambler car ;) and their little travel trailer.  I used to know what type it was, but can't remember now.  I think that would be ideal for me except I don't have a place to park it, they wouldn't allow that on the property.  I wonder about financing a travel trailer, and insurance too.  More research and thanks for the reminder, will look into that possibility too.

Yes your truck is probably too small but you can hire a trailer towing company to deliver or move it. The last time I looked it was $2 a mile but when my wife bought hers she had them deliver it and set it up to insure everything worked after it got there as part of the purchase price. My son bought a larger used one several years ago and had it delivered to his site that was furnished with his job by the previous owner for an extra $500. When he was ready to leave he just sold it and actually made a profit. Some people rent trucks for a few days to move it they only move between seasonal jobs or make friends with other workers trying to make a little extra to move. There are lots of options.

I had to have my horses moved a time or too until it was just too impractical for me ;) Hey, is anyone "out there" on horseback?? That reminds me of a guy I saw traveling along the highway near Paisley Oregon one year. He had a couple of horses and a mule. I had some videos of him, found out later he was a bit famous for his travels around the country ;)

Yours is a 2 wheel drive truck, right? THat has a rated towing capacity of 4,000 pounds. THe 4-wheel drive version is only rated 1,500 pounds though. You could easily tow a tear drop, or a Scamp....if you could find one.

I love those little Scamps, saw one this a.m. Good to know KK!! Thank you ;) Oh, the Scamp I saw was 13k by owner. I can see why though, be worth it to me, but above where I could spend ;) I'll keep looking though ;) Maybe end up with the job first, which would be excellent ;) PS Another I saw was called a Happier Camper ;)

I started in a truck and prefer the body style of a van. I can stand up.

I do not recomend having a vehicle loan.

I like having a home base of some sort. Others do not seem to need a home base.

If you are interested in the egg campers there have been many, many different makers over the years. A good place to start if you are thinking in that direction is fiberglassrv.com.

Where are you anyway. Perhaps if you put feelers out for what you want we can all look in our areas or at least keep an eye peeled.

Bolers is one brand of fiberglass trailers that could easily be towed by your rig, with a small canopy on the Mazda and one of those egg trailers you would have a fair amount of space. You could probably tow any ten foot trailer with your rig. They even make slide ons for those trucks not sure how hard they are to find used.

Looks like I may have a job, with my choice of either a 5th wheel to live in, or trailer. The lady that owns it seems excited to meet me, but I am maybe, overly cautious as I've learned I have to be. I am just bursting to find out if it's a good fit for me. It's year-round and in my beloved Oregon.

I so want to say more, but just want to give you the heads-up as if it goes through, it would be a wonderful home for Mimmie and I. This was just dropped in my lap. So have to put RV biz on hold for now as I will need to make a trip.

Sometimes I really don't know what to do for sure, and something happens that's right for me, if I just hold my horses on things ;)

I'll do a different thread about it, if it all works out ;) Denise

Thank you Rose, Very hopeful words so far.  There might be a problem getting there from here because of fires.  I'm watching the Bootleg Fire especially, and another a bit further south ;( Sick for those people and animals in their path ;(

It's not turning out but I'm over the disappointment. The lady was coaxing me to come up but what she needed was more than I was willing, and able, to do. I'd hoped for just a rental, and basically being a good neighbor but not be actually working for her (job & schedule) I didn't want to barter (I want extra money to do a job) because I still want to come and go, hopefully in Seasonal jobs. She is in a pickle though, and needs more than I am able to give.

I haven't talked to her today yet, wrote her this a.m. We really hit it off. I want to ask her if I could list what she needs on here as there may be someone that wouldn't mind living there, although she needs help through Winter months as well in Oregon. I'm just staying put until something feels right to me.
