The Summer of Love is halfway from here to WWI

And let us not forget the small gathering at Max Yazgur's farm in '69.

Years ago when I was happily single and dating I was talking to a very nice woman at the bar, she sat down and I thought I caught that 'vibe' that this might be a nice evening. Then the song 'Summer of 69' came on and i asked her what she was doing around that time ( I was participating in The Southeast Asia War Games) and she replied, " Being Born". Ouch. Finished my scotch and went home.

That's where Carlos Santana really made it big time.

In '99 when Supernatural was released, my then-15 year old daughter came home from school all jazzed about this "new AWESOME guitar guy" that just released a new album that she just HAD to have Mom and Dad hear...  and it was... Santana.  We got a big laugh out of that one.

I know I'm old because in the morning I find out how much time is left on my current Pacemaker. I'm told replacing the batteries requires a new Pacemaker. This will be have to be done with a local anesthetic since I am not a candidate for general anesthesia. I'm on the 5th year of a battery or batteries, that last 5 years. It does give one something to think about, Eh?

To all of you insomniacs, see you on the forum late night, I figure this will be a long night.

Gunny

ZZZ, I must be missing something, what exactly is sad about that? Being older than a woman I was talking to? Not really wanting to be with a woman young enough to be my daughter? It was a bit of a letdown, but sad, no.

I was walking up to the door of a store when this young and pretty girl dashed in front of me and held the door for me.
I was in shock just thinking about that. I was like, what just happened? :shy:

1. I'm teasing you.
2. Most men would be more than willing.

Definition of "dirty old man" - sleeping with a woman half your age is no longer illegal.

Went to a Melissa Etheridge concert and a friend brought her new young girlfriend, as Melissa was belting out Me and Bobby McGee the child said "wow, Melissa writes the best songs!!".

Never was! Likely present days in the West it is much more against the social mores, than 95% of other times places cultures.

Other way around the opposite, from Wife of Bath to Samantha Jones and Demi Moore, we've come a long way baby (know you're old if you get the ref
