If you check Bobs videos you will see where he explains the advantages of the Wave 3 heater instead of the Buddy because it regulates better

I am right there with you guys, I own a Mr. Buddy and I would never recommend it is anything more than a back-up or occasional use heater - I am a diesel heater fan!

That being said, Mr. Buddy has a time and place and mine was $70 lifesaver when it was -17deg C and I needed a temporary heat source - we were running it on high! It puts out a ton of heat and I carry it just in case - used it the other day to keep my hands warm while working underneath my van.
