I have two 6 volt Samsclub gc2 golf batteries to make my 12 volt house battery,
I think they give me 110 usable amp hours when there charged to 100%.
I charged them yesterday and then charged them another
4 hours today , when i got done charging I tested the specific gravity at 1250,
Does the  specific gravity of 1250 tell me how many amp hours
I have available ?

We get to use 50% if rough on our batteries. Those batteries start out with 215 AH rating. You will get up to that after a few cycles, then they gradually start declining. If taken care they will last a long time. More likely just a few years in real world use. EGC2 have 230 AH rating.

MS, how do you charge? I ask because 4 hours of bulk charging should have brought your batteries up above that unless you really hammered them the night before or they have progressive capacity loss.

How are you charging? What voltage while charging? How many amps can your charger produce? SG only tells you the state of charge. The AH capacity changes as batteries age.

I wanted to add that if you charged for 4 hours and only made it to 12.5, you were either seriously drained from the night before or you have progressive capacity loss. You might do well to pull in somewhere that you could plug in for a few days and give them a real good charge.

Battery charger
14.8 volts
its been starting out at 53 amps , that is the highest i've seen
Dropped down to 17.5 amps and then amps seemed to stop dropping or at least dropping very slowly
Specific gravity read 1265 when the amps were 17.5amps

For a 12 volt bank. With charging voltage over 14.4. Amps being accepted at 1 or 1.5 % of AH capacity. Can make a good assumption the battery is fully charged. Your information suggests you need a longer charge time.
