How long tween trips for Thetford units...

So, what I'm asking is, how long can one leave the deodorant in the thetford between trips?

We are not going on trips all the time, and I was wondering about dumping the loo after each trip, even if it got used very little....

Or not at all, for instance.

That chemistry seems kinda expensive to just dump....

I mean if we filled the bottom portion as intended by design, that's one thing, but to have hardly used it, is another.....

Does that make sense, or am I just overthinking this whole messy biz?? Lol!!!

If you leave it for a period of time, the liquid will evaporate away and that leaves you with, uhm, a chunk of yuk that would be problematic to remove.   As for the chemicals, I use 'Happy Camper' odorless treatment, added just before a trip and dump after each trip regardless of amount of use.

My tank is only 2.5 gallons... It's just a little ports party.

How much would I use for that?

galladanb, since 2.5 gallons is appox. 6% of 40 gallons. use 6% of a scoop. to get precise, weigh a full scoop then do the math fill the scoop up with 6% of the weight of a full scoop. then mark your scoop. highdesertranger
