Hello- im looking for exp advice on the life of a propane freezer ive used them a few months at a time but even then it wasn't constant sometimes id go out on a fishing boat for a few days or a week or so or id be processing seafood 20 hrs a day for days/ weks but ive never "lived" with one constantly running more than 3 mo as I was working a seasonal job at the time or just recreational fishing/camping for days at the most. thanks for your time

Hi petetheskriller, I'm sorry I've never used a propane freezer but I've had a Waeco/Dometic 12 volt fridge for 5 years now and I highly recommend them. I mostly use it as a cooler but I have used it as a freezer. Even used as a freezer in the summer it's duty-cycle is only about 8-10 hours a day at 35 watts or 30 amps.

I have enough solar so it is free to run and I like it that way. Free is good!!!
I know people with regular 3 way fridge-freezers in their RVs and most of them last for many years trouble-free so I would guess a freezer only would do the same.

..unless they park at more than a 3 degree angle (maybe less) while the fridge is running. 'Cooked' fridge= big repair/replacement bill. ..Willy.
