How close do you need to park to get free wifi

I found an Office Depot store with parking right in front of their entrance and got an excellent WiFi signal. I was able to back up my iPad to the cloud in about 10 minutes.
An iOS update would probably take 20 minutes?
Anyway, just FYI for those with iPads and haven’t been able to download the new iOS 11 yet.

Lowe's always has very strong Wi-Fi signal in their parking lots. I often can get their signal from the next street over, even. That's with no booster.
