I have a 2002 Subaru L with 214000+ miles on it.
I took out the back seat and the passenger seat.
I built a bed on the passenger side from the glove box into the backseat area.
I have storage under the bed as a result.
On the driver's side in the back seat area is where I have all the Solar Electrical installed.
There are 4-20 watt panels attached to the roof rack.
A 30 amp charge controller and the biggest deep cycle marine/RV battery I could find.
A 2000 watt Xantrex Pure Sine inverter.
This is what I had on hand from other projects so it is what I used.
The cargo area has a shelf the width of the area by 2 feet front to back.
The gasoline stove is stored and bungee'd to the shelf.
Clothing and other soft stuff is stored there as well.
Under the shelf are 2 plastic milk crates holding tools and clothing.
Farther back is my Safe and 2 more plastic milk crates and canned food and gallon water jugs.
Because there is a shell of solar panels on top of the roof I call the car Honu (Hawaiian for sea turtle) and caR-V because it is Honu caR-V.
I tried the TailVeil tent anyone want it? It takes up too much room in my tiny little Subaru L.
I have been traveling now for 4 months and am very comfortable sleeping and living this way.
I'm 64 so don't tell me ya can't do it.
