My name is Brian & I m 35 years old , I found this site , & I think it is great by the way , I m happy 4 all u good people out there being free . I have wanted 2 just take off many times in my life just 2 see the United States on my terms . I use 2 work construction , but me & my best friend started a canoe & kayak rental shop , Lazy River Canoe Rental in the little town of Ridgway , PA where I lived my whole life so far . I just picked up a 2001 GMC Savana 3500 van , 2 pull my 1982 21ft Fun Time travel trailer , the van has a little over 72 ,000 miles on it , 8.1L motor in it , I m checking on the axle ratio so I no how much I can pull with this vehicle , I was wondering what any body would have 2 say about a rig like this , its all I got right now . PS This is 4 any 1 coming or going through Ridgway ,PA who might like 2 go canoeing or kayaking down the Clarion River , day floats or camping over night trips , me & my friend have done this for 10 years now . This is Lazy River Canoe Rental , contact Tim 814 -389-2732 , maybe some of u good people will stop & see us this summer . Thank u & bye 4 now Brian

Hi Brian....glad to know you spell it right... It is good to have you and some of our folks are in the east, travel the east and will surely come by to see you at some point....some of our family are kayak drivers too.

I don't plan on going out there any time soon but welcome you to the group and looking forward to any upgrades, etc. you do on your van.

Some of my camping experience was canoe camping in the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge canoe system....200 some lakes in the wilderness on the Kenai Peninsula...phenomenal rainbow trout fishing! Lots of portaging so we had to pack as though backpacking.

Happy travels....

Brian

Hi Brian! I love the PA mountains! Thanks for the invite!

Cyndi

Welcome Brian, With a Van and a trailer you will have a lot more room than a lot of us on here. I am in Crofton, Maryland between DC and Baltimore. If I am still on the east coast when it gets warmer. I will look your outfit up and maybe swing by before going west.

HOLY SMOKES!!!!! I've been trying to get my account to "activate" for 4 days, and when it finally works for me, what do I find?? A post from Ridgway, Pa!! Why is this so special, you may ask?? I'm in Johnsonburg, Pa....7 miles north!!! What are the odds, on a worldwide internet and something as non-mainstream as vandwelling, to run into someone so close by?? Brian..are ya checking out the Chainsaw (ron-day-voo) lol, I can't spell it, so there it is phoenically. We'll have to catch up with each other for coffee.

Hi Brian, welcome!! One of the moderators of the forum (twokniveskatie) lives on a farm in PA and is an ardent kayaker. Hopefully she will see your post and day hello. That van sounds like the perfect tow vehicle! It will have plenty of power for your trailer. Bob
Hi Brian, I'm in upstate Ny, in the Catskill mtns with family all over Pa, ( altoona, jersey shore to name a few) I love kayaking, and have done a few of the northern states, including the Atlantic off the coast of Maine. I went through Pa earlier today, on a blitz trip to Fla. for 5 days for a funeral. 22 1/2 hrs straight, each way. ( My wife is driving now, we just crossed into NC. It's nice to see no snow, green grass and buds on the trees. Welcome to the forum, and I will defiantly look into your company.
Les
