I just sold my ClassB RV last week & am on to the next project.  I have bought a 2013 Ford Transit Connect that I am planning on making into a small RV for myself.  I live on Cape Cod, Ma & travel all over New England.  I am hoping to have this done by this summer.  I have a million questions in my head, but will search the forums to see if the topics have already been covered.

Welcome!  I am pretty new here too and I said the same thing about not asking too many questions and they assured me it was OK. Great resource have fun:)

Welcome aboard the forums Ackidge
Yup yup go ahead and ask all the questions you want .
Plenty of answers already in the archives so read them too.
I used to go outta the Cape a lot , nice mild winters there , and surprisingly few bugs in the summer too,,,,now about the tourists............................

Welcome to the board.  I spent about four years at Ft Devens, MA in the 70's.  Loved the New England area.  Nearly every weekend I'd travel into Maine, Vermont or New Hampshire.  That is what weekends I didn't end up in the combat zone of Boston.  When I retire I plan to revisit a few spots up there.  Top of the list is the Cathedral of the Pines.  The last time I was there was the winter of 1976.  I still tear up when I remember how beautiful it was as snow fell over the valley behind the alter.  If you can visit it in the winter just at dusk, with snow falling, you will remember it forever.

Welcome! It's a great place, full of much information!

Welcome to the CRVL forums, Ackidge! I grew up spending summers on the Cape and moved there after college.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome! I think you'll be excited to find at least a few "builds"with pics and detailed info specifically for the Connect. I agree with you that it is good to read some of the basics so you know what questions to ask. There is some truly expert advice on this forum on topics from electric and solar to tires.

Hello and welcome.  Sounds like an awesome project.  Make sure to keep us updated.

Welcome! I am considering the Transit Connect. Will be looking forward to seeing what you do with yours.

I will be picking my Transit up this weekend. There is a local RV shop that will help me with the electrical portion. Unfortunately they don't open the shop until April 4th. I have an appointment for that week to go over options. I really can't do much until I know where/how/what electrical/refrigeration will be in place. The wait will kill me! I want to start building NOW!

Welcome to  CRVL, :)

A great place for information, tips, and insights from experienced people.   In time all of the beloved old Econoline
type Ford vans will be a thing of the past and the Transits and other versions emerging today will become the new standards.   So you'll be blazing the trail  with your Transit mod's for a lot of us here who are still in the old Ford Vans.  But it was a good run from 1961 to 2014 for the Econoline.

Do take photos for us and keep a diary/blog to go with your project Transit.   All the best in your ventures.
