Hello everyone!
I hope everyone has had a good week and looking forward to the weekend!

I live in Colorado and am starting to make baby steps toward becoming a nomad.  It's slow going because I have no income due to no work because of medical issues. (in short, I'm waiting for a disability decision). In the meantime, I'm trying to figure out how my arts and crafts can make me some money (this has actually been ongoing for the past 2 years).

I have watched all of Bob's videos and have noticed that nobody likes the cold. I'm an oddball in that sense. Anything over 65 degrees Farenheit feels way too hot, in my opinion. Is there anybody that lives in a colder climate during the winter or does everyone go south?

I'm looking forward to starting my adventure and will be car camping this summer and probably on into the autumn. If I get REALLY brave, I'll go during the winter (road conditions permitting).

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!!!

Hello Drea and welcome to the forum.

There are some of us out here who do year-round in the northern states and even in the wintery-er parts if Canada. Nope, you are not alone. Sometimes in the summer in northern MN it gets too meltingly hot for me, lol.

Welcome to the forum!

I don't mind the cold but I prefer not to drive in snow if there's a choice. Still, the spring-like weather of Arizona was pretty nice when I drove through there in January 2017 and I want to go back. At that time in North Idaho we were having the snowiest winter since I moved there . . . and sure enough, as soon as I got back into Idaho I was in the middle of a snow storm that was so severe Oregon and Washington closed the highways I planned to drive on to get home.

I've been taking baby steps toward becoming a f/t vandweller for almost a year now. I finally got the van a few weeks ago. I'm still living in an apartment.

Thank you so much, Angie!

Oooh Canada in winter ... that would be fun. Yeah I've heard that MN is hot and sticky. Still, I bet it's gorgeous in spring and autumn!

Thanks tons!

I'd like to see AZ in the winter/spring. Oooh, did Idaho get a ton of snow this winter/spring? We have even got some weird storms. We don't get a lot of the snow where I live because we're more out on the prairie. Still, it's close enough to the mountains to do day trips. Man, you guys are giving me tons of ideas of places I want to see. I've heard some scary stories about Idaho's mountain passes though.    :s
Congrats on the van!!! Although I'd thought about going with a van, I am more drawn to the Scamp trailers. I've looked at Casitas and Airstreams and they just don't appeal to me like the Scamps do. Gotta get a vehicle first. My car was totalled in an accident last year. :(
Until then, I'm borrowing my mother's car.
Are you going to completely overhaul the van?

I just thought I'd also point out that I'm new to forums of any kind. So if I'm not replying correctly, please forgive me. I'll figure it out eventually, right? :)

Weather wise it sounds like you would enjoy the Pacific NW coast in the summer and the winter months. It is easy to stay mostly in the temperature range of the 60s in the summer time and 40s at night is also typical. If you want to see Canada then British Columbia is stunningly beautiful. The bigger issue is the late fall and winters get downright grey and soggy.

Heading to the Southwest for the winter is not just about being warmer it is also about having lots of sunshine.

I've heard that about the NW. I'd like to go up there during the summer months but I like my sunshine (and Vitamin D) with cool temps. Ya know? I think I just want to travel all over but manage to get to some nice cool climates during the summer. Where I'm at now, we typically see 90s and 100s in the summer. And later in the summer, nights stay in the 70s and 80s and that's what really makes me miserable.
For now, I'm dreaming and saving and planning.  :D

You wouldn’t have been hot in Quartzsite last winter at all!
