Hello everyone, I've been lurking for a while and decided to join the van community.  I've always thought traveling/road tripping, stealth camping is the coolest thing and also most cost effective.  Most of all, you have freedom!!  Ever since my father passed (1 1/2 years ago) I look at life so different vs. before.  "Less is more" makes so much sense at times.  I've always wanted to see the entire U.S. and I'm doing it slowly and surely ;-)

I started out with an Astro Conversion Van Ext, went onto a Truck with Long Bed and Camper Shell and now a Ford E-150 Cargo Van 4.2 which I'm in the process of converting into a stealth van.  I'm not fancy so the conversion is as long as I'm comfortable, I'm good.  I like to keep the weight down so I can try to get better mpg.

I've driven to South Carolina and stopping by just about every state I passed.  I've also drove up to Vancouver and PNW and back.

Once the E-150 is ready to go, I'm thinking maybe taking the 10 East and all the way down to the Keys.

I look forward to gain knowledge from everyone and enjoy everyone's stories and experiences.

Best travels everyone :)

Hello and welcome. Good, friendly bunch here. Be safe.

Welcome LMTLMT!

You wouldn't happen to work for LMT, would you? My brother works there and I'm thinking of driving out west to visit.

Show us pics of your builds! Mine isn't fancy either but I think it'll work.

Welcome to the CRVL forums LMTLMT! Making your home comfortable is the most important thing. Much more important than fancy! We really like to see pictures of van builds so please post some if you can.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome to the CRVL Forums   :)

Let me invite you to check out my sites below.  One for fitting out your rig,  and the other to use at the time
you are going on the road and everyday there after.

All the best to you in your travels.

Welcome. Going light is a good way to go. A cot, sleeping bag and a stove will get you started, (also a bucket and some plastic bags).

Welcome!   I am new here too.   Been lurking for a while but bought a van (2008 Chev Express Cargo) a couple of weeks ago and working on outfitting it.   I am trying for the ability to live ten days off grid, so it won't be a lite project.   I envy you that!
